An important finding in the current studies is good outcomes in subjects who feel rested after sleep, but the emotional support, sleep, smoking and alcohol appear to be important. Knowledge of health factors associated with the development of a healthy quality of life could be useful in clinical practice and public health, says the Professor Bengt Fridlund, Faculty of Health Sciences. The research results are implemented in a problem-based learning program aimed at patients with rheumatic diseases who have inadequate relief of pain and fatigue. This program is being evaluated.
Ongoing studies have shown that sleep, emotional support and alcohol habits, among other factors, are important for good health qualities of life of patients with rheumatic diseases. The knowledge of these results can be used to improve the care of these patients.
This is the first time that PGC-1 has been completely removed from the muscle tissue, providing researchers a new model to disentangle the role of the protein in muscle development, exercise and metabolism. This additional effort rapidly depletes the reserves of fuel, resulting in premature.
In summary, PGC-1 is necessary for the exercise, but not normal muscle development and activity.
