Advanced search tool to help doctors Sort and retrieve data DME Vital

‘Even in its simplest implementation, the presence of an EMR system presents considerable challenges to the radiologist,’ said Michael Zalis, MD, lead author of the study. ‘For example, radiologists commonly encounter each patient with little familiarity with the first patient’s clinical situation. Consequently, the time and effort required to retrieve, review and assimilate EMR data relevant to the case in question becomes an important factor for the use EMR in busy clinical practice, ‘said Zalis. Effect of 6 m SMF on phagocytosis depends on the degree of differentiation of macrophages

Wednesday, 17. April 2013

Several studies have suggested a potential causal link between the removal of dead cells and the onset of disease. In fact, diseases such as the London School of Economics, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease , atherosclerosis, autoimmune encephalomyelitis and related to delayed or inefficient removal of apoptotic cells that can cause persistent inflammation and tissue damage leading to the development the immune response. The results obtained in the present study suggest that exposure to 6 m SMF affects fluid phase endocytosis and phagocytosis in monocytes / macrophages in the degree of differentiation dependent. So even if the underlying biological mechanisms are still largely unclear, this work could help to explain the effects of exposure to support a possible causal relationship between SMF and the degree of differentiation Read more »

Research shows progress towards DNA sequencing

Tuesday, 9. April 2013

UCSC researchers are collaborating with Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd for the development of a new generation of electronic technology to single molecule DNA sequencing. In the method of rapid sequence , the current through a nanopore is measured as a polymer of DNA passes through the pores. This paper addresses the purpose, a key challenge for the section of DNA sequencing: a fine tuning of the translocation of DNA through the nanopore, at a rate that is consistent and slow enough to allow the precise identification of individual DNA bases. The work of Nature Nanotechnology shows for the first time that the movement of a thread can be controlled by electronic feedback and that the enzyme can move a little ‘against a field, while at the top of the nanopore. Some diet adherence associated with decreased BMI in adolescents

Saturday, 30. March 2013

Sc., Boston University Medical Center and colleagues evaluated the effects of a DASH-style diet on body mass index in a sample of adolescent racial diversity. The authors examined data from 2237 girls of 9 years who participated in the national study of growth and health of 1987-1988 and were followed for 10 years. Data were collected annually, and each participant received a score of DASH food group based on individual food needs of belonging. Read more »
